Mathematics of facepalm

without comments

All credit to SuchetaFox on Kotaku.com:

I think the problem here is whether or not one multiplies or adds facepalms. Let f = a facepalm If it’s multiplication, then 2 facepalms is f * f = f^² But if it’s addition, then 2 facepalms is f + f = 2f Perhaps, though, it depends on what the facepalm is about. If one facepalms in shame of another’s facepalm, then we can define that as multiplication. Conversely, facepalming performed by two individuals with respect to the same event would be two of them, or 2f. Incidently, facepalming due to the above posters’ two facepalms would be f * (f + f) = 2f^² In the same line of thinking, this is the same as two people facepalming due to a single individual’s facepalm, such that (f + f) * f = 2f^² Therefore, facepalming is commutative.

Sixth Photo Meme

with 2 comments

@Veronica spread the meme.

Here are the rules:

“It works like this: if you use Flickr, go to the sixth page of your photostream and pick the sixth picture there, then post it to your blog.”

This is a picture I took while I was in San Francisco this last January, as we were setting up our new office.  This is the site of our new tower we’re building which will be a condo tower.
