Louisiana - what’s the big deal?
DaveScot
So Louisiana has a new law allowing science teachers to teach the weaknesses of time & chance evolutionary theory.
What’s the big deal? Evolution by time and chance is as well tested as gravity for Pete’s sake. How long does take to convince a kid that when he throws a baseball into the air gravity will pull it back to earth?
According to the theophobic evolutionists there are no weaknesses in their theory.
So the teacher will quickly present just a small fraction of the “overwhelming evidence” that time & chance turned mud into Mozart, he’ll have a list of zero things to present to argue against it, and all will be well with nothing lost. The biology teacher can then go straight on to teach really important specific things like how fish grew legs and lungs, dinosaurs became birds, and hippos became whales. These are things kids need to know in order to be successful, productive members of western civilization. Without knowing these things all of science will surely collapse and with it all of civilization itself. We can’t let that happen. Failure to convince children of the fact of evolution by time and chance is a risk that makes global warming look like small potatoes. This is Really Important Stuff.

Let’s take this one step at a time if you’d like to know what the “big deal” is.
1) There’s that pesky seperation of church and state thing. Intelligent Design IS Creationsism. Stop lying about it.
2)”time & chance evolutionary theory” : It’s actually called natural selection kthxbai. It’s not “chance”, but rather evolution finds a path to forms that will be most efficient. This doesn’t always mean that old forms go away, but its how we end up with a vestigial tail when we’re in the womb. Explain THAT by your God. Either he’s an idiot, or there isn’t one.
3) Your argument does nothing to show that there is actually a controversy. It’s simply sarcasm that we don’t need Evolution to live life. Well, I suppose by the same argument you don’t need any more education than what is necessary to flip burgers. So I guess I’ll take a Baconator.

President, Congress offer no immediate help on gas prices - CNN.com

With the parties deeply divided on solutions, it’s not surprising that last week a Senate bill requiring major cuts in greenhouse-gas emissions failed.
Only 48 of 100 senators voted for it amid charges by White House press secretary Dana Perino that the bill would have a devastating impact on the economy and thus might not really help cut the price in gasoline.
But six absent senators, including Obama and Republican John McCain, said they would have voted yes to end debate and move forward on the bill. That led some in Congress to declare that Congress will have the momentum to take action next year on reducing America’s dependence on foreign oil.

So let me get this straight…we pay both Obama and McCain to be Senators, and to represent their constituents. They are supposed to be there doing their part in the senate, right? So, they “would have voted yes to end debate” but they couldn’t be bothered to do their job because they’ve spent their entire time in office campaigning. Am I getting this straight?
Can someone please pay me to go look for a different job for 2 years while I don’t do this one? WTF.
